Lindsey Markelz, MSW

Lindsey’s key strength lies in her ability to build systems and lead projects that strengthen UrbanPromise. Her commitment to doing so is rooted in her passion for the UrbanPromise model and its ability to support positive long-term outcomes for youth.

Since 2008 Lindsey has worked in a variety of capacities. She started as the Director of UrbanPromise International spending time working closely with our affiliate sites in Malawi and Honduras as they launched. She then served for several years as a part-time Grants Coordinator and later full time Development Director for UrbanPromise Ministries while raising her young children. She transitioned into her position as Vice President of Development and Finance in 2023.

Lindsey earned a BSW from Eastern University and an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania before serving in the Peace Corps in the country of Kiribati in the Pacific, working with local non-profit leaders. When not working, Lindsey and her family enjoy gardening, bee keeping, and coming up with new inventions.
