UrbanPromise fosters a safe and empowering working environment where the staff feel supported in carrying out their roles and advancing the broader mission.

A Family of Promise

Centered on Mission and Faith

Our staff often refer to UrbanPromise as family and appreciate the strong sense of community they find working here. In a recent survey, team members showed a strong affinity to UrbanPromise’s mission and values, finding the work important and meaningful. Among those here for 3+ years, mission and faith were among the top reasons they work for UrbanPromise and among the top factors that will influence their continued work for UrbanPromise for the next 5-10+ years.

Early Work Experience

UrbanPromise’s internship program provides college-aged adults with year-round or summertime training in urban youth development and ministry. Interns work in our after-school and summer camps and live in community in the Camden neighborhood in which they work.

“I love that students are more important than their test scores here, and that my creativity and care for them as a teacher is respected and appreciated.”
