Tony Vega

Within the UrbanPromise community, Tony is known for his deep commitment to engaging young people in Camden.

As as native of Camden himself, Tony worked his way through the ranks of UrbanPromise programs starting as a 1st grade camper and continuing in summer camp and after school programs until he became a StreetLeader, and later a college intern.

Tony earned his bachelor’s degree at Eastern University in Secondary Education and History. He then directed after school and summer camp programs for 12+ years and gained classroom teaching experience before obtaining his current position as Director of the StreetLeader program.

Tony is continually seeking to meet young people where they are at and to create new, exciting, and meaningful experiences. He is known to many as a mentor and friend.

Tony has traveled around the world (10 countries and four continents) and knows how to fly a plane!
