Wellness Program: New Faces, Same Vision

Dec. 20, 2023

Exciting Additions to Our Wellness Department

Join us in welcoming Jessica Shinn, MSW, as the leader of our Wellness Department! After a year of making a significant impact as a wellness intern alongside Siomara Wedderburn, Jessica is stepping into her role as Director. She comes to us with expertise in social work, program development, teen leadership development, and education. Jessica completed her MSW this month!

In her new role, Jessica manages staff and volunteers and oversees all wellness initiatives. Her time with us over the past year has allowed us to see how strongly Jessica aligns with the culture and vision of UrbanPromise and our wellness goals and we are excited to bring her officially on board as a valuable asset to the team.

We also introduce Margaret Wilson-Pearson, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an MSW from Rutgers University School of Social Work. Margaret brings a wealth of experience from her work in Camden and other public schools, as well as her private counseling practice. Now, she’ll be offering individual and group counseling, directly supporting high school students and youth employees in our StreetLeaders Program.

Margaret’s connection to UrbanPromise goes beyond professional; her daughter attended our CamdenForward School, after-school and summer camp programs. With a deep appreciation for the impact UrbanPromise has on families, Margaret joins us as a dedicated professional and as someone who understands the power of our programs firsthand.
